What will the Commissioner do?

 Depending on what is appropriate, the Commissioner may:

  • take steps to resolve the complaint;
  • refer the matter back to the government institution;
  • investigate;
  • choose not to investigate;
  • discontinue our investigation, if already started; or
  • refer a matter to another oversight body such as:
    • the Provincial Auditor; 
    • the Ombudsman;
    • the Conflict of Interest Commissioner; or
    • the Information and Privacy Commissioner.
